Gulab Chakkar, nestled in the heart of Ratlam, is a historic circular monument build in 1879 by King Ranjit Singh, named after his daughter Gulab Kunwar. Known for its symmetrical beauty, regal architecture and cultural significance, Gulab Chakkar has stood as a silent witness to the city’s glorious past and vibrant traditions.

In the year 1900, the famous wrestler Ghulam Mohammad showcased his great strength by lifting a 7-quintal (700 kg approx.) round stone on his chest and bringing it to this place. Today, the same historical stone is installed at Gulab Chakkar, symbolizing Ratlam’s sports heritage, strength, and valor.

During the evening, the Sound and Light Show along with stunning lighting effects beautifully portrays the historical and cultural heritage of this monument. After the recent restoration, Gulab Chakkar has emerged as a major attraction for art, culture, and tourism.
